About the team

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team of buyers who support a huge retail and online warehousing and distribution process based near Doncaster. The role is fast paced and ever changing so we need someone who is motivated and excited by being challenged. The role is commutable from North Nottinghamshire, Leeds, Sheffield or Derbyshire and comes with a company car.

The team play a really important role in purchasing a wide variety of goods not for re-sale and work with a variety of teams and stakeholders. It’s a high profile position in the business so you’ll have regular contact with Directors, Senior Managers and a range of suppliers to promote strategic solutions for the business.

About the Role

You will:

Utilise your technical buying experience to evaluate current suppliers and Identify potential future suppliers. Working to develop a network and ensure the best suppliers are sourced and selected.

Prepare assessments of current suppliers/ products/ services to evaluate performance price and outstanding issues. You’ll also prepare tender documentation for review and utilise eSourcing and eAuction tools.

Utilise your Legal knowledge for the preparation of formal contracts, SLA’s and KPI’s for suppliers.

Build on-going relationships with suppliers including conducting and managing reviews, looking at performance, service and a full value analysis.

Regularly meet with all relevant internal and external parties to ensure a proactive approach, ensure any issues are being identified and promote new ideas and solutions.

Profile

About You

Ideally CIPS Qualified or working towards with a minimum of 4 years experience in a Category Buyer role.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders and develop strategy.

Imaginative and Creative person who is keen to put forward new ideas and innovations and follow through on these to achieve success.

Resilient personality with a proven track record of influencing and gaining buy in across a range of levels and departments.

Self motivated to set, and deliver on both personal and business Objectives.

Eager and passionate to continue to develop Technical knowledge.

Ability to work in an extremely fast paced environment and manage multiple projects at once whilst keeping all parties informed of progress.

Flexible with both UK and International travel to visit suppliers.
