Job description

The Estée Lauder Companies is currently recruiting for a Security Officer in the Security department, to join an experienced and committed team at Whitman Laboratories where as a team we manufacture around a fifth of Estée Lauder's global sales output. We are based in Petersfield, Hampshire, UK.

Please note that the shift pattern for this role is on a 12 hour 4 on 4 off rotation combined from day and night shifts.

We would love for you to come and join the Estée Lauder family, where the main duties of this role are to monitor the factory premises, ensuring the safety of the buildings, equipment, inventory and staff from fire, theft or any form of damage.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor, patrol and secure the premises in accordance with Security procedures and ensuring all intruder alarms are set and operated properly.

  • Test and check all fire alarms and other equipment on a weekly basis ensuring all faults added to the Service and

  • Repair document, and are reported to the Security Manager. Follow up to check work completed.

  • Ensure evacuation procedure is followed correctly, preventing re-entry, maintaining control room, identifying any personnel who are unaccounted for, and advising all known details of situation to the Fire Brigade on arrival.

  • On patrols, ensure that Company rules are adhered to by staff in order to protect Company property, products and staff, including no smoking, fire exits clear, no selling on premises.

  • Carry out random searches in accordance with Company procedures and legal standards.

  • Gather facts on any lost or stolen product or any suspicious / unusual event before passing to Security Manager for investigation.

  • Accompany Scrap loads to incinerator and witness disposal when required.

  • Monitor the loading bays. Carry out random checks of in-coming vehicles ensuring paperwork and loads agree.

  • Complete paperwork and seal vehicles out of hours.

  • Organise documentation and distribute staff sales and free issues to staff, sort out any damaged goods, holding staff shop bags for collection and ensuring all goods removed from site have appropriate documentation.

  • Ensure only authorised personnel are allowed on site. Record and update all personnel records on Access Control system, adding and updating information as required.

  • Monitor CCTV in order to prevent and detect risks to the work force, infrastructure and company property

  • Carry out telephone and Post room duties in the absence of the Receptionist.

  • Issue keys, ensuring all keys issued are logged, and returned.

  • Carry out Drug and Alcohol testing for cause and if required by Occupation Health. Keep accurate records of both.

  • Manage and issue lockers to Staff. Ensure records are up to date and audits carried out at least bi annually

  • Undertake such tasks as may be assigned by Management. Performs all duties and responsibilities in accordance with established operating procedures and standards of ethical conduct.
