Position Overview:



The Security Officer plays a key role within the store operations. The role provides security and loss prevention support with a priority of creating a safe and secure environment for all staff and guests visiting the store. The Security Officer will greet guests, maintaining presence, patrol and inspect the store and respond to all security and safety matters in a timely manner.

Guest Experience:

Act as a front-line brand ambassador to guests and team members of Canada GooseBe visible to guests as they enter the store premises and control access to propertyAcknowledge guests as they enter and exit the property

Security and Safety

Assess and assist in the establishment of security protocols for the site, including emergency responseIdentify, monitor and report any on site security threatsEnsure the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms and site emergenciesComplete and submit audit results, occurrence and incident reports on a regular basisMember of the JHSC

Loss Prevention:

Conduct regular security patrols on the sales floorMaintain security presence to deter and detect potential loss prevention situationsPrepare reports related to any incidents of theft and merchandise recoveriesDevelop and maintain a professional relationship with all internal partners, local law enforcement agencies, mall security and other retailers to ensure all parties are well-informed with current and relative information

 Engagement:

Contribute to a positive store environment through effective communication, teamwork and partnership with brand ambassadors and store management teamAttend and participate in all store meetings and eventsDemonstrate values and behaviours consistent with Canada Goose’s cultureProvide new hire and continuous employee trainings to maintain store loss prevention awareness

Profile

Experience, Education and Designations:
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a position of or relating to security services, retail experience an asset
  • Minimum of one year of experience in loss prevention is an asset
  • Possess required security licenses and certification
  • Security Diploma an asset
  • Recognized and valid First Aid certificate
  • Knowledge of basic law and security procedures within the retail environment
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
  • Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal
  • Meticulous record keeping, report writing and observation skills
  • Exceptional judgment, common sense and decision-making ability
  • Good physical well-being
  • Available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays as required by the store
