Job description

REGULATORY SCIENTIST - GLOBAL INGREDIENTS COMPLIANCE The Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) global Safety & Regulatory Affairs has an opening as Scientist Global Ingredients Compliance. This position is responsible for managing global regulatory compliance of new and existing ingredients and raw materials used in all Estee Lauder Companies (ELC) products. The role is based at Whitman Laboratories Ltd (a company of the ELC group) in Petersfield, UK (with part-time remote working considered). The successful candidate will be responsible for: Assessing and monitoring regulatory requirements for ingredients globally, providing detailed impact reports to senior management whilst focusing on ability of ELC to continue using certain ingredients in certain areas of the world. For new ingredients providing a regulatory forecast of where and how an ingredient is permitted or regulated so that coding of new raw materials into ELC systems is completed. This includes flagging any potential local restriction very clearly into ELC R&D databases. Creating and managing all necessary technical documents in the relevant ELC systems working directly with markets as necessary, running surveys or troubleshooting and resolving issues and challenges with local ingredient regulations. Supporting internal and external government inquiries in all regions if relevant to specific regulatory inquiries on ingredients including preparing or supporting any submission dossier for associations or authorities. In cooperation with the Raw Materials Management team, maintaining ELC raw materials database ensuring consistency and timely regulatory revision of raw materials whilst acting as a subject matter expert on ingredients regulatory - rapid familiarisation and in-depth knowledge of all ELC systems (current and future) will be essential to manage ingredients regulatory status. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Excellent project management and multi-tasking skills. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail. Prioritization and time management skills. Team player with groups both inside and outside the organization. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong and proven knowledge of chemistry with minimum BSc in a scientific discipline (chemistry, biology or pharmacy preferred) and ideally an MSc level degree. Broad cosmetic or drugs or consumer goods regulatory experience with 1-2 years previous experience in laboratory or industry highly desirable Fully proficient and experienced with Windows Office, PPT, Word, Excel and Outlook computer applications.
