Mary Katrantzou was born in Athens in 1983, to an interior designer mother and an entrepreneur father. Her collections revolve around icons of luxury, ideas in art or design that a woman would not be able to wear if it were real. She allows women to wear the beauty found in design, in a subversive way, now boasting 250 stockists ranging from Selfridges and Barneys and collaborations with 'Atelier Swarovski', Victoria's Secret and Couture house 'Lesage, Longchamp, Topshop, and denim brand Current Elliot. She has also received awards for her innovation in Textiles, winning the Swiss Textile Award in 2010. In November 2011 Katrantzou was awarded the British Fashion Award for Emerging Talent: Womenswear and in February 2012 was awarded Young Designer of the Year at the Elle Style Awards.

Job description

Mary Katrantzou is currently seeking a full-time intern placement within the PR/Marketing department in our Head Office based in East London, to start immediately.

-Smooth and efficient running of sample coordination
-Dealing with press and VIP requests
-Sending garments to stylists and magazines in coordination with the press agency
-Monitoring and reporting daily coverage
-Various admin tasks
-Studio organization: general maintenance of the studio including stationary supplies and keeping rails tidy & organized
- Assisting in the runway show and other events organisation
-Sample Sales: participation with the sales department


Preferred candidates will:

-    Have the ability to work in a fast paced environment within a luxury fashion house
-    Have a knowledge of Fashion GPS (highly desirable but not essential)
-    Have an enthusiastic and positive outlook and a “no task too small” attitude
-    Be highly organized
-    Have excellent initiative and problem-solving skills 
-    Be presentable and approachable yet remain professional 
-    Have the ability to work under pressure and to remain calm in a fast-paced environment, but an equal sense of urgency when required 
-    Possess excellent interpersonal skills
-    Have good communication skills in English (spoken and written)
-    Have a good knowledge of social media platforms 
-    Have a knowledge of fashion publications and online platforms 
-    Be able to work full time in order to reap the full benefits of the internship
-    Be self-driven and confident
