Job description

My client is one of the most luxurious brands in their product category, stocked in the most prestigious locations around the globe. They are currently looking for an Operations Director with a luxury background to join their growing team. As the Operations Director, the focus of your role will be to ensure successful internal planning & communications and oversee the global supply chain and Operations team to ensure strong product development, stock management and customer service practices are in place.

Operations Director:

* You will be responsible for both the Supply Chain strategy and Customer Service strategy
* Review and improve or introduce core business processes
* Ensure the necessary skills, efficient methods and correct partnerships are in place
* Introduce effective quality management procedures, and ensure the business is meeting all legal requirements
* Manage stocks effectively
* Partner with the Regional Sales Directors and the Brand team in the development of annual campaign and channel plans
* Oversee the head office Operations team and support the requirements of staff globally
* Works very closely with the CEO and CFO to implement annual budget processes
* Recruit, mentor and develop staff for the Operations team as this is a new department and act as a mediator between other departments and teams

The candidate

* Business Operations and/or Supply Chain Management with 8+ years experience within a brand-led, global consumer goods or retail organisation - MUST BE within the luxury tier
* Strong negotiation skills, with significant experience strengthening the supplier base and, ideally, logistics providers
* You will have a network of suppliers and a proven track record of successfully implementing processes
* You will have strong analytical and organisational skills and be able to work simultaneously across multiple projects at both a strategic and tactical level
* Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to plan and allocate financial and human resources according to business priorities, target and measure success of key processes and programmes, and adjust teams' focus and practices based on tangible learnings and rate of return
* You must be able to multi-task with amazing organisational and time management skills as you will be working to tight deadlines
