Job description

The National Account Manager will manage and develop all aspects of sales with our major accounts and support the development of new distribution across the UK.  This role will ensure focus and expertise is given to a critical part of the developing business, driving our growth expectation, and executing account plans and objectives.

You will understand the product line and become an expert in your divisions to identify key sellers, newly bought, and adopted styles to recognise new opportunities to place them. A key part of this role is to also plan and implement strategies to deliver KPI’s set by the business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Achieve annual commercial revenue sales targets
  • Develop a deep understanding of each account, across buying, merchandising, marketing, and creative departments to build trusting relationships cross functionally to understand their business needs whilst communicating the objectives of Skechers.
  • Manage the sell-in process for all Skechers product for your account base ensuring delivery of key propositions through persuasive selling and an emphasis on thorough preparation, an excellent understanding of customer needs and focus on achieving goals.
  • Organise and undertake quarterly business reviews with accounts and monthly business reviews internally to maintain focus and ensure all possible steps are being taken to deliver the plan.
  • Keep abreast of the marketplace identifying buying trends arising from all channels, retail, mail order, E-com and buying groups.
  • Work effectively with the Sales Managers to maximise Skechers distribution within your accounts.
  • Provide weekly updates to the National Sales Manager on specific accounts.
  • Report sell-thru information weekly and be responsible for sell-in and sell out, stock turn, payment and orderbook management.
  • Work cross-functionally with Finance, Customer Services and Marketing to retain strong customer account relationships and achieve sales targets.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven track record of managing and delivering consistent results as National Account Manager or above.
  • Strong planning, organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to influence decisions internally and externally.
  • Understanding of broader business financial principles and commerciality.
  • Must be comfortable in using data analytically to inform thinking and build compelling commercial arguments
  • Advanced Excel Skills and experience in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Works with customers and internal teams to bring the voice of the customer back into the business to implement solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with the understanding of broader business financial principles.
  • Ability to analyse and identify trends, to recommend new ideas to drive strategies and efficiencies. Ability to work in a fast-paced and results driven business.
  • Ability to build a persuasive selling story through strong negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of competition law
  • High level of literacy and numeracy
  • Must display a high degree of professionalism, tact, and diplomacy.
  • High tenacity to maintain high standards, accuracy, and a passion to achieve results.
  • Self-sufficient and comfortable working with minimum of supervision.
  • EDI knowledge is an advantage
  • This role will require extensive travel across UK & Ireland with occasional international travel.
