Job description

As HR Manager for the Leeds Distribution Centre you will play an important role, providing an efficient and effective HR service for the DC and Transport operation, and acting as a Business Partner in support of business cost and service targets.
You will be responsible for around 500 - 1000 people, both blue and white collar, so you will need to be experienced and knowledgeable of dealing with unionised workforces.
Day to Day
- Ensure positive employee relations are maintained whilst proactively monitoring and reviewing site working practices against current and future needs of the business
- Manage the onsite agency providers to ensure they are meeting their SLA
- Manage procedures to ensure Managers adopt a consistent approach, taking appropriate action to minimise impact to the business on absence, labour turnover and other HR KPIs
- Contribute to Arcadia Logistics strategy ensuring activities meet current and future business needs
- Support the planning and implementation of a phased recruitment of staff to cover Peak trading period
- Work closely with the management team to encourage and develop appropriate skills and behaviours to support PDPs
- Manage and support the development of the HR Team
- Ensure the employment advice and guidance given to management is in line with Employment Law to reduce the risk of Employment Tribunals
- Ensure SLA timelines are met to provide a consistent timely service to the business
- Understand the business context and support the business in line with the agreed budget
- Understand the DCs' operational KPIs and the impact these have on the business context
- Provide the GM and Head of HR with a Management Information (MI) pack on all employee related issues on a weekly basis
- Provide accurate internal and external benchmarking information to ensure Arcadia Logistics is aware of external employment influences e.g. inflation rates and local unemployment information
- Drive Operational Standards across the DC to ensure continuous improvement
