The Role

We are a multichannel operator with well-developed and highly successful retail, ecommerce, wholesale and franchise businesses and customers in virtually every country in the world. In this new role as Category Finance Manager, you will provide timely commercial insight to support and challenge all financial management matters to optimise the financial performance of Superdry products and ranging decisions. Working closely with our Global Trading Director and their direct reports across Merchandising, Sourcing and Category Management you will be responsible for financial planning, analysis, control and decision making.

You will

- Ensure the Global Trading Director has clear visibility of the financial impact of decisions, actions and promotional planning
- Introduce regular measures of category profitability that drive decision making and future actions that support sustainable profitable growth
- Be pivotal in reviewing range planning actions and setting the seasonal buy volume
- Be the go-to person for analysing all product and promotional performance considering all financial elements in any post implementation review / future strategy consideration
- Provide regular weekly insight into gross profit performance of the business considering all activities currently impacting margin rate
- Define, monitor and manage the performance of key stock KPIs by season, category and location including (but not limited to) stockholding, cover, rate of sale and sell through
- Provide a key role in managing the delivery of maintaining company intake margins, being aware of pressures and mitigating opportunities
- Work closely with other members of the finance team in terms of understanding weekly performance at a category level and work with the merchandising team to improve category and sub-category sales and margins forecasts
- Develop a close working relationship with the Merchandising, Sourcing and Category Management teams, but remain independent in your view of performance and analysis
- Spot emerging trends regarding key performance metrics at a sub category / options level and escalate appropriately
- Lead your team to develop clear and accurate financial reporting and analysis that drives positive action
- Provide support to the senior management team and peers as required

You are

- ACCA, CIMA or ICAEW qualified, with in depth post-qualified experience in a commercial finance setting
- Someone with a background working in a Retail / FMCG environment, with experience partnering with similar Merchandising/Buying teams highly desirable
- Highly commercial, with strong analytical ability to translate numbers into operational reality
- An advanced Excel user with knowledge of financial and non-financial operating systems
- A fantastic and confident communicator, able to build productive relationships with people at senior levels
- Someone with gravitas and can influence others
- Able to work under pressure and deal with ambiguity and conflict
- Based locally to Cheltenham, or willing to relocate
