About Brighter Foods - Part of THG Nutrition Manufacturing Brighter Foods is an award-winning food manufacturer and proud member of THG Nutrition Manufacturing. Based in Tywyn, Mid Wales, between the stunning Snowdonia mountain range and picturesque local beaches. The site specialises in crafting high-quality, great-tasting snack bars that deliver on health, flavour, and texture. As part of THG's global Nutrition division, we're continuing to grow our capabilities and expand our impact across the health and wellness sector. About the role: Reporting to the Team Leader this role will encompass all aspects of Production Operations from weighing up ingredients for processing to palleting finished product and all operations in between. Completing tasks to maximum efficiency whilst maintaining low levels of waste, maximising outputs, working safely and ensuring high quality standards. Adopting a 'clean as you go' policy at all times and adhere to the BRC standard. Core Responsibilities: Complete all tasks in the correct & most efficient manner Always seek to minimise waste & maximise outputs whilst achieving the best quality possible Comply with company 'clean as you go' policy Work within industry Health & Safety Standards Comply with all food safety requirements and company food safety policies and practices Provide suggestions on ways of improving efficiency and reducing waste Complete all production paperwork fully and correctly as required Work effectively as part of a team whilst maintaining the capability to function individually Carry out any reasonable request Respect and value other members of staff to create a positive working environment Qualifications and Experience Previous experience in a FMCG (Fast moving consumer goods) environment would be beneficial but not essential Good levels of literacy & numeracy will be required for completion of process paperwork Food Safety Level 2 qualification (Desirable) Health and Safety Level 2 qualification (Desirable) Personal characteristics Proactive individuals who will seek out work and how to improve productivity Self driven, enthusiastic & motivated High personal standards Good team worker with a positive outlook Committed, disciplined & able to work under pressure A desire for continuous personal & business improvement Good personal hygiene standards Willing to learn and develop new skills THG is proud to be a Disability Confident Committed employer. This role is based at our site in Tywyn, Wales (LL36). The role is 5-days a week onsite (37.5 hours per week) Candidate must live within a commutable distance. About the role: The purpose of this role is to support the Technical Manager and QA Team in maintaining company policies and procedures in line with BRC and other third-party audits, and ensure the company complies with all relevant legislations. You will also provide administration support to our QA department, keeping matrixes up to date, assisting with customer complaints, generating COC's and assist our raw materials lab in reviewing microbiological testing results and investigations. Job Role (not limited to): Review procedures, write procedures and make necessary improvements Drive continuous improvement and promote the food safety culture within the business Contribute and play a part in the internal auditing team Support the business during third party audits and traceability exercises Assist with the coordination and completion of customer complaints Issuing Certificates of Analysis/Conformities, where required Key attributes: Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office software Experience working in a technical related role within the food or beverage manufacturing industry High attention to detail and great organisation skills Good understanding of food safety systems and their practical application in a manufacturing environment Good knowledge of third-party standards such as BRC, Trading Standards. About the Role: We're looking for a proactive, experienced Technical Manager to lead food safety, quality assurance, and compliance at our Brighter Foods site in Tywyn - a key part of THG's global Nutrition Manufacturing network. In this role, you'll play a critical part in upholding the highest standards across our operations, ensuring that every product we produce is safe, high quality, and meets both regulatory and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities: Lead the site's Food Safety and Quality agenda, championing a culture of excellence across all technical functions. Own and maintain the Site Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring full compliance with legislation, customer standards, and best practice. Stay informed on emerging trends, changes in regulation, and customer requirements to ensure our standards remain industry-leading. Embed a culture of proactive risk assessment and technical integrity, positioning the technical function as a valued and trusted centre of expertise. Develop and manage key performance indicators to monitor, challenge, and elevate quality and safety performance across the site. Ensure all product batches released to market meet stringent quality and food safety standards. Coordinate and lead third-party audits, including preparation, execution, and follow-up activity. Support new projects from a quality perspective - advising on hygienic design, equipment specification, food contact materials, and cleaning validation. Lead and develop a high-performing technical team - conducting regular performance reviews, identifying skills gaps, and supporting ongoing training and development. Manage and investigate customer complaints, using appropriate tools and methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. Participate in internal and external audits in line with the audit schedule. Drive continuous improvement and promote quality awareness across the site. Maintain rigorous site hygiene standards, supporting smooth and compliant manufacturing operations. Provide clear direction, coaching, and leadership to your team - fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. About You - What We're Looking For: A proven track record in Quality Systems Management and technical leadership within food manufacturing. Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline such as food science, microbiology, or product safety. Strong experience managing third-party audits and technical visits - ideally within a BRC-accredited facility. Confident and capable people manager, with a passion for team development and coaching. Demonstrated success in driving quality improvements and continuous improvement initiatives. Up-to-date and relevant Food Safety qualifications, including HACCP Level 3 as a minimum. Automation Engineer | Brighter Foods X THG Manufacturing Location: Tywyn, Wales Shift: Monday - Friday, 37.5 hours (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (depending on experience) Reporting to: Engineering Manager About the Role We're looking for a talented Automation Engineer to join our team at Brighter Foods X THG Manufacturing. This role will play a key part in the operation of our new automated factory, designing, programming, and testing automated machinery to ensure optimal performance and precision. You'll take ownership of automation systems, using your expertise to interrogate PLCs, identify and resolve faults, and enhance process logic. Alongside your technical responsibilities, you'll also help develop and upskill team members to support the needs of a 24/7 manufacturing operation. While the core hours are Monday to Friday, occasional out-of-hours support will be required. A strong electrical engineering background is essential, as you'll also provide hands-on support for electrical breakdowns and fault-finding activities. Key Responsibilities Maintain and optimise automated machinery to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency. Conduct troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repair of automation and electrical systems. Design and implement custom automation solutions to improve production performance. Deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Programme, configure, and integrate new equipment within existing control systems. Collaborate with OEMs and suppliers to enhance current automation processes. Provide technical guidance and training to support the wider engineering team. Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with compliance requirements. Perform PLC and electrical diagnostics to identify and resolve system issues. About You Proven experience working with automated machinery in an FMCG or manufacturing environment. Degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or similar), and experience with SQL, Python, or Java. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to optimisation and reliability. Experience managing automation or engineering projects is advantageous.
