Womenswear Buyer

Joy currently has an exciting opportunity for a Womenswear Buyer. We are looking for an individual who has the personality to match our brand. We want fashion forward, vivacious candidates who possess a can-do attitude to join our close-knit team.

We are looking for someone who will:

•Oversee range development, ensuring the product reflects the brand strategy and the season it logically and commercially thought through.
•Oversee department review processes to maximize opportunities and minimize risks
•Working closely with Merchandising to deliver a profitable department
•Developing a high performing team
•Manage team to negotiate cost prices with suppliers ensuring high intake margins are achieved
•Build effective relationships with the supply base; develop and manage the business wise sourcing strategy
•Introduce process to monitor and improve quality
•Optimize branch stock efficiency
•Working closely with Design teams to produce new collections every month
•Attend fit sessions to achieve correct fit and style


Skills needed:

• A passion for fashion, capable of spotting up and coming trends
• Experience with multi product clothing, especially dresses
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
• A team player with experience of managing a team
• PC literate, with good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Good numerical skills
