BASED LEICESTER

We have an amazing opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the successful technical team of a leading supplier to the UK high street. Details below;


Trainee Technologist

As Trainee Technologist you will assist the technical team with the process of sampling and sealing from initial development through to pre production across ladies and kids footwear.

As this is a trainee role, previous Footwear experience is not essential, as full product training will be given

In a fast paced environment, you will help to ensure that all product is safety tested, fit approved and also compliant with industry standards in line with critical path dates. To achieve this you will be liaising with customers and also offshore factories.

Previous experience in a technical or development role would be beneficial,though not essential as training will be provided.

Duties include:
-Working very closely with the technical team, with regular communication with both merchandising and Design teams.
-Daily liaising with factories in Asia with regards to samples, testing and deadlines
-Daily contact with customers, ensuring all queries are answered promptly and professionally.
-Reviewing incoming samples, ensuring quality and packing standards are met.
-Attend fit sessions / Customer meetings
-Create technical workbooks
-Requesting and managing testing
-Keep track of all steps in the sample sealing process
-Ensuring all administration with relation to sampling and testing is kept up to date. Keeping a daily updated schedule to keep track of deadlines in the critical path

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
-Excellent attention to detail
-Strong time management, administration & communication skills
-Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (mainly Excel)
-Desire to learn and progress within the company
