Job description

We have partnered with a heritage menswear brand seeking a Technical Manager to join the team.

Key Responsibilities;


*Dealing with pattern and construction queries and resolving issues
*Strong pattern and fit knowledge essential as well as confident knowledge of garment construction and fit.
*Oversee and manage technical review meetings, and work with PD and Sourcing based on the critical path calendar to set approval dates for sealing sample submission and production start-up.
*Knowledge of fabric testing-base fabric, bulk fabric and Safety Testing
*Experience and strong knowledge and understanding of ethical and technical compliance desirable.
*Comfortable with working with critical paths, communicating this internally and externally and ensuring all dates are met.
*Knowledge of global fit variances and requirements
*Understanding of global market labelling requirements
*Ensure that all our products consistently meet the quality expectations of our customers.
*Ensure product measures and fits are consistent across product ranges and are in line with key competitors
*Responsible for ensuring consistency in grading across products and updating specs with formulas accordingly, maintaining accurate specs.
*Benchmarking products technical performance against the competition on a seasonal basis
*Undertake seasonal vendor appraisals and present this back to the business
*Travel to vendors to support Design, PD and Sourcing when required, primarily within Europe
*Participate in weekly meetings with PD and Sourcing to follow approval process of production and timely completion of seal samples
*Expert knowledge of manufacturing methods & machinery
*Preventing, managing & resolving quality issues.
*Management of Technical budget


Required Experience;

*At least 6 years experience with a background in Tailoring and Outerwear
*Proven success in a technical role at a senior level in a luxury brand.
*Multi-product Luxury Menswear
*Experience in people management, training and development as will be responsible for overseeing 2 garment technicians.
