Job description

NOT SUMMER is looking for a highly motivated individual to take charge of its wholesale management division, as the company looks to explore alternative growth opportunities, such as product design and strategic consultancy work. 

As Sales Manager, you will be in charge of the Paris showrom operation (four times a year), new business development, existing customer relationship management, sell-through reporting and client feedback, customer service, as well as ensuring sales orders are properly processed, approved, paid-for, and delivered on time. Furthermore, you will be the primary point of contact for over 150 stores worldwide, across multiple designer brands.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

- Collaborate with designers to outline seasonal strategies and establish realistic sales goals
- Compile and analyse sales figures from previous seasons; preparing advisory material on pricing variability and range planning
- Identify and approach potential retail partners based on the client's placement profile and intended positioning
- Develop balanced markets around the world, working to de-risk certain regions, and avoid over-distribution
- Keep up to date with competitors in terms of stockists and product offering

SHOWROOM PRODUCTION

- Research and secure venues that are in line with company aesthetics, logistical criteria, and seasonal budgets
- Hire support staff and showroom models, negotiating appropriate day rates, and arranging all travel and accommodation if required
- Arrange appointments with all existing and prospective clients
- Prepare online sales platform with correct style codes, descriptions, prices, and images
- Oversee showroom merchandising and direct the setup process
- Ensure clients visiting the space are given clear and coherent information on the collections, and all notes are properly documented

SALES ADMINISTRATION

- Follow up with clients to make them aware of deadlines, delivery windows, and sizing details
- Close orders on time, accurately process confirmations, and negotiate viable payment terms
- Generate deposit pro forma invoices, and collect payments to help support designer cash flow
- Manage customer ledger and regularly review accounts receivables for all brands
- Assist warehouse and studio operations teams with shipping and invoice documents

CLIENT COMMUNICATIONS

- Share price guides and monitor global pricing for all brands
- Distribute product knowledge materials, designer biographies, and any additional assets that might be requested by retailers
- Regularly check-in with clients with regards to sell-through and customer feedback, relaying this information to designers
- Monitor production progress and update clients on estimated shipping schedules
- Field customer service requests, such as swaps or returns, as well as provide credit notes when necessary

Profile

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

- BSc degree in economics or related subject, first class honours preferred
- Minimum of five seasons worth of experience working in a designer showroom 
- Fluency in English and at least one other language (ideally French) is required 
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills  
- Ability to work calmly under pressure 
- Independent, positive and outgoing personality
