Retail Training Manager
Responsible for the design, development and production of training materials, documents and manuals. Ensuring consistency and quality of content and delivery to meet the specific needs of Retail shops as well as supporting the development of Wholesale and Franchise training materials.
Work with the Regional Manager and HR Manager to identify training requirements. These will be tailored to the business needs, and to determine the priorities and plans for a 12 month rolling cycle to create a company wide training calendar.
Work with Regional and Area managers to develop training programmes that are comprehensive and meet the needs of the business.
Engage Regional, Area and Store management teams to ensure all training strategies are implemented to the highest standards.
Evaluate and review training materials and tools utilised, update as appropriate to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Manage and maintain training information for training reporting and record maintenance.
Organise and deliver monthly launch calls / workshops to cascade new materials to the Shop teams.
Use in depth knowledge of luxury retail to innovate on-boarding and training needs analysis. Determining the most relevant and cost effective training solutions for Shop teams that will improve individual / team knowledge, skills and in turn shop and business performance.
Development of an on-boarding training strategy for brand, product and service to engage all Retail and Wholesale employees.
Co-ordinate, support and monitor the delivery of the company welcome and on-boarding programme to ensure its effectiveness, timeliness and relevance to each new starter.
Assists with the induction and training for new shop openings, working with the Regional and Area Managers to ensure quality standards are met. Follows up on post shop openings, to identify any immediate training gaps and provides the appropriate training required.
Provide coaching and development to the Retail Shop managers responsible for employees placed on an apprenticeship scheme. Ensuring effective implementation of all new and existing in shop and classroom based training programmes.
Develop a strong digital learning portfolio that compliments training programmes, connecting sales consultants directly to the brand.
Work in partnership with Retail and Marketing to ensure brand consistency and tone.
Create and evolve monthly materials/assessments on brand, product and service through training sessions and webinars.
Support at Regional Shop Manager Meetings as required.
Collaborate with key stakeholders in Digital Marketing, Marketing, Buying, Design,
Customer Service and VM to ensure we are achieving the business strategy.
Share new developments and initiatives with Wholesale and Franchise partners.
Constantly look for ways to improve the delivery of teaching and learning.
CIPD accredited. 5 years' experience in a retail training role.
Demonstrable successful expertise in developing and delivering a wide range of training interventions including one to one coaching, group presentation, collaborative learning and facilitation within a retail environment. Credible experience of designing and developing training material to support training programmes. Proven experience of conducting training needs analysis and measuring results to make improvements and drive change.
