Luxury British fashion and footwear brand are looking for a category manager to join their team.
This is a new role for this lifestyle and outdoors company to broaden their category range and drive sales.(footwear, apparel, accessories, gifting).
This role is accountable writing the seasonal briefs:
*Identifying who is the consumer (with Marketing)
*Where to target distribution (with sales)
*What products to sell ( accountable for the product dimension- after consultation with sales, marketing & product development)
*Category - what are the ways to grow the category and what are the limitations
*Responsible for briefing all new and existing product development, across categories.
*Working with the product team to bring product to market in line with the seasonal delivery schedule.
*Resource and budget planning,in line with geographic and channel priorities.
*Maximize the commercial return for the category - defined in terms of sales, gross margin and profit.
*Merchandising mind-set with deep understanding of data in its relationship to product success.
*Strong analytical skills - quick to identify patterns and trends within consumer, customer and competitor behaviours.
*The CM must have FMCG experience
*A traditional retail background with experience of apparel would be an advantage
* Management experience of a sizable range with a clear understanding of turn cycles
*Premium luxury brand experience -desirable.
